Follow the leader

A young girl from Quebec saw this picture when she was praying. She saw a stage where there were many actors but then the stage cleared and Jesus was the main actor. As the main actor the rest followed His cues.

A young girl in Ontario…saw a crowd of people and saw herself mingling in the crowd. Then she saw Jesus in the crowd but no one recognized him. Because she did, she turned and started to follow Jesus as he walked among the people. As she got closer she started to do what He was doing.

To follow Jesus doesn’t mean just walking behind him and watching what He does or listening to stories about Jesus. He is asking us to be an ambassador and work WITH Him. However we can’t do that unless we come real close to Jesus and find out what He does.

Something that Jesus says in the Bible really makes you think. In John 10: 17 it says,

“The reason the Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No-one takes it from me but I lay it down of my own accord.”

The disciples didn’t get it at first and Peter spoke up and said to Jesus, “No but you can’t die!”…Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan.” Whew pretty harsh! But Jesus knew that without His death we would not have been able to go to heaven. He loved us so much that He cried out LET ME DIE! (John 3:16)

When we think of God’s kingdom coming to earth, we often think about the sick being healed and dead people coming to life again, and that is true it is part of God’s kingdom. BUT to get there we have to die to our self. What does that really mean? Well in a nutshell it means that we don’t insist on our rights but say “Your will be done Jesus”, and allow Him to come closer and closer. When we do we can see with
“Kingdom goggles” and hear what He hears and see what He sees and then respond with His heart. Remember Jesus only did what he saw the Father doing, so as His followers can we do any less?

Do you remember the story about Moses where God asked him to lay down his shepherd’s rod? That was an important tool for a shepherd so it didn’t really make sense. But Moses did and then it became a SNAKE! NOT GOOD…but then… he was told “pick it up by the tail!” Not a good idea… but he did and … and it turned back into a rod…WAY COOL! NOW it was a much greater tool. He could still use it to guide sheep but it was also God’s tool and He used it to part the Red sea, and do many other miracles. We never give something to God that He doesn’t make better. (Exodus 4:1-5)

ACTIVITY

Play Simon says or follow the leader. For a variation have the “followers” be blindfolded. The “leader” is responsible to make sure that the “followers” follow without getting hurt. The “followers” will soon realize how important it is to follow instructions exactly and listen carefully! This is especially fun out doors in the woods!

Pray that God would show you areas of your life where You still want to be “boss” or want YOUR way.

How about “It’s MY turn to have a shower get out of MY way!” or “Its not fair, he got a bigger piece of cake that I did.” These are ways you can lay your life down for someone else and that is where it starts.

Say sorry for wanting to hang onto those areas and ask God to help you change your way of doing these things.

Pray that God would give you a desire to be pure. Ask Him to open your eyes to see what He sees and hear what He hears.

When you feel a check in your spirit…stop. Ask Him what is it that He wants you to do or not do. As we are trained first in the small things and obey He will give us bigger things to do as well. Many people in Canada are feeling that they are to spend extra time with God the next while because He wants to prepare them for a change that is coming. What about you… You in?

Pray that many people in Canada would respond to the call to spend more time with God right now and get closer to Him. Pray especially for people in Quebec this month.
Pray that many young people in Canada would want to stay pure, and learn to listen and obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

I’m sorry not to have posted anything since June. I had felt that the Lord would have me take a rest from this and then to confirm it I couldn’t get access to the blog to write anything. I was able to a access my other websites but this one seemed blocked. In the meantime Blog.com has migrated and has a new look so I have to get used to that. I also noted that some of the text in the last entry didn’t migrate so there is a blank space I will fix that soon. Today my son upgraded the internet server and I am now able to access the blog…

So I will try and post again or maybe start a new blog, we’ll see.

blessings Carolin

One day Tiny went for a tiny walk to have a tiny adventure. He brought a tiny jar of honey with him to have a tiny picnic.

He sat down by a tiny tree and while he was enjoying his tiny jar of honey, (Well he wasn’t really enjoying the tiny jar, but the tiny honey inside the jar.) there came a tiny shower of rain.

Over New Years a few years ago there was a LARGE gathering of mostly youth that came together to pray for the United States, in Kansas City, U.S.A.

One young man, a 12-year old, shared a vision he had in prayer several days earlier, in which the Lord showed to him that on Dec 31 God was going to "pour out all the bowls and let them run over". Then yesterday, on Dec 31, the front-page headline of USA Today, speaking of the football "bowl" games, declared "The Bowls Runneth Over”. Here was a regular newspaper saying what this young boy had sensed in prayer.

In 1996 while praying for reconciliation between people groups and regions in Canada, a nine-year-old girl had a picture of “a huge bowl filled with rainbow colored liquid that was about to be poured out, over a dry area.” This was at the beginning of an outreach to Mexico and on that outreach a pastor at one of the venues we were at mentioned. “Ever since you have been here there have been rainbows in the sky every night! This really reassures us that God has not forgotten us!” In the following years we were involved in numerous other reconciliation events and VERY often there would be a double rainbow either at the start or end of the mission.

Now these prayer pictures are they scriptural?

Well, check out. Numbers 16: 41-50. Here is a story of a time that the Israelites sinned, and God punished them. Moses instructs Aaron to take a censor (or bowl) and fill it with incense and fire and run into the midst of the dying people holding the bowl up as a symbol of prayer, and as Aaron stood between the living and the dead the Plague stopped!

And again Revelation 5:8 …

the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and was holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints….

When it speaks of the bowls being poured out it means that God is answering the prayers of those praying.

Last year a lady Jan Aijahn showed me a picture of a huge Metal sculpture that she had made. It was called “the prayers of the saints”. I thought this would be a good picture to have to remind us of the importance of filling up these bowls in prayer. The next while we will be posting a number of prayer initiatives, such as the Global Day Of Prayer, Children at Risk and the Ears 2 Hear prayer alert. So as you join in think of these bowls that are being filled up in heaven in response to your prayers.

About 40 years ago there was an incredible working of God in Indonesia. They tell how the teams of people who went out to share the good news about Jesus. Included in them there were 8 groups of children. There were from 8-10 kids in each group ranging in age from 6-10. They were known as the children's teams.

These kids went to school from the 1st to the 4th grade. Every morning they left for school at about 7:00. School lasted to 1:15 and then they went home to lunch. From about 4-7 every afternoon Monday to Friday instead of playing like most of the kids , they would come together to pray. They would kneel and put their hands together and pray - not only for others right around them but for the whole world. And they would be so concerned that they would weep. Then the Lord would give them perhaps a word of prophecy , or instructions or reveal something special to them

On Saturdays school only lasted to 12 noon. About 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon the team of kids started to walk to a nearby village.Nearby could mean anywhere form 5-15 miles away. through the jungle. This was a weekly thing, and no adult ever went with them. When they were asked if they were afraid, they replied. "Why should we be afraid ? There is always an angel going ahead of us, and one on the right side of us, and one on the left side and one behind us. We just follow them through the trails and they keep us safe."

Many times when they walked through the jungle it was dark. They didn't have maps. God told them just to pray for light. He gave the children of Israel light, so why wouldn't He give light to us too, they thought. The Bible never changes. The light God gave after they prayed would be like the landing light of an airplane. When the light would go left, they would go left and when it moved to the right they would move to the right. As it went forward, they would go forward. Finally they would find the village, church or home God wanted them to minister. The Lord led many times like this through the darkness of the jungle. "We wouldn't know the way but we just followed the light!"

Wherever they went God used them to bring many people to Jesus. They just believed what the Bible said and as they went out, God healed people, and showed Himself mighty with many signs and wonders.

About 40 years ago there was an incredible working of God in Indonesia. They tell how the teams of people who went out to share the good news about Jesus. Included in them there were 8 groups of children. There were from 8-10 kids in each group ranging in age from 6-10. They were known as the children’s teams.

About 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon the team of kids started to walk to a nearby village.Nearby could mean anywhere form 5-15 miles away. through the jungle. This was a weekly thing, and no adult ever went with them. When they were asked if they were afraid, they replied. “Why should we be afraid ? There is always an angel going ahead of us, and one on the right side of us, and one on the left side and one behind us. We just follow them through the trails and they keep us safe.”

Many times when they walked through the jungle it was dark. They didn’t have maps. God told them just to pray for light. He gave the children of Israel light, so why wouldn’t He give light to us too, they thought.
In the dream they saw a city that was all dark. Some saw the city in ashes and some like a deserted city. Then they saw a light. Eventually the city became all light as the people went from the dark to the light. The word was "follow the LIGHT!"

Now Who is the Light of the world? Who brings us out of darkness into the light? Who spoke Let there be Light when the world was empty and without from?
"Passion" is a conference hosted by Louie Giglio, with worship leaders like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, and the David Crowder Band. Their official purpose is "to glorify God - uniting students in worship and prayer for spiritual awakening in this generation."
Their website is http://www.268generation.com/2.0/splash1.htm. The name comes "268 generation" is because they desire to see a generation who are radical followers of God rooted in the verse,

"Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are
the desire of our hears,

They recently did a world tour, stopping in seventeen major world cities including Mexico City, Vancouver, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Sydney, Cape Town (South Africa), Paris and many others. Each city was asked to pray for the people of that city/nation (hence the song "God of this City" ) and also to pray for the nation that would come AFTER it. For Japan, this mean that the people of Korea were praying for Japan. This is really significant because there is still a lot of bitterness from when the Japanese occupied Korea before World War II. The time of prayer was also a time of RECONCILIATION, In Tokyo, we prayed for Hong Kong. It was a huge night of praise, worship, preaching, and prayer - celebrating God's glory, His passionate love for the people of this earth, and being inspired to share that love with our world!

“Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are
the desire of our hears,

They recently did a world tour, stopping in seventeen major world cities including Mexico City, Vancouver, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Sydney, Cape Town (South Africa), Paris and many others. Each city was asked to pray for the people of that city/nation (hence the song “God of this City” ) and also to pray for the nation that would come AFTER it. For Japan, this mean that the people of Korea were praying for Japan. This is really significant because there is still a lot of bitterness from when the Japanese occupied Korea before World War II. The time of prayer was also a time of RECONCILIATION, In Tokyo, we prayed for Hong Kong. It was a huge night of praise, worship, preaching, and prayer - celebrating God’s glory, His passionate love for the people of this earth, and being inspired to share that love with our world!
